The night he almost died

One of the things I had to do while I was home for Christmas in New Zealand was to catch up with one of my favourite drinking buddies, Browny. He was staying at his Mum Wendy's place in Tauranga. This was as good a spot as any to kick off our shenanigans as it was known as a New Years hotspot. Luckily enough it was the weekend of New Years Eve.

17+ steins of beer and a pig knuckle

Lights blurred past our taxi as the Pakistani driver sped through London at around 5am. I was trying to get some more shut eye and the classic 70s sounds pumping out of the radio weren't helping. Around 4 hours later my plane touched down at Salzburg airport, and within another hour I was in Munich, the host city for Oktoberfest. I was only here for the weekend but I planned to sample as much of the local beer as I could.

The top 8

Reasons I know I've had too much to drink
8. I have urinated on myself
7. I am completely lost in a foreign place and it takes me two hours to get home
6. I am in Palmerston North and I spend two hours trying to find my way home
5. I am frothing at the mouth
4. I spill my drink (surprisingly I hardly ever do this)
3. I have passed out by 7pm
2. I completely fail to recognise that a hot girl is hitting on me
1. It's 3pm Tuesday at work and I still can't see properly

Wasn't he that guy...

Who used to update his website with some really cool stories? Well yeah I was and hopefully still am. It's been a long winter here in London and despite a lot of good times partying there hasn't really been anything memorable to write about.

I have been working on some stories lately though and hope to have them up soon... And I'm going away this weekend on a hockey tour - something good ALWAYS happens on tour. Especially when it's a mixed hockey tournament.

So don't touch that dial...

The 'High School Eats Dick' Polooza

On the 26th August 2006, the first Palooza event of 2006 kicked off. I was noticably absent from the event, and it is the first Palooza I have missed since its inception in 2004. However there are a few that have kept the tradition alive, and the new captain of the Palmerston North chapter has written a few words to document the mayhem that shadows a Palooza event.

Note: Those who have yet to be desensitized by the carnage of Polooza events may be shocked and awed at...

Carpalooza

Let me tell you a tale. A tale of five heroes, all on a crusade to bring their vision to the masses. The day of this groundbreaking journey would be a day of laughter, betrayal, and celebration. Hearts would be broken; bonds of friendship tested; and respect would be gained. Today is the anniversary of that day. And this is their story.

Encierro - the running of/with bulls

I awoke, startled. My eyes, slowly gaining focus, revealed my blurry surroundings, a messy tent. The taste of sangria still tainted my tongue, which I peeled from the roof of my mouth. A voice, which sounded like it was outside my tent, was yelling something about rubbing with balls. I checked the time - 5.42am.

San Fermin opening day

The Spanish really do know how to throw a party. The opening day of fiestas de San Fermin kicks off at midday. However the events before and after the opening ceremony are far more entertaining.

The Party Professionals

A bus full of antipodeans, two bus drivers and tour guide is how the journey started. It is also how it ended but along the way some epic stories were created, new friends made and a hell of a lot of alcohol was consumed. Except for the stupendous bus journey I can say I had a pretty good time in Spain. The tour company I travelled with were call PP Travel (PP stands for Party Professionals - aptly named). Here's how it all went down.

Photo Gallery

For those of you who haven't noticed, the Gallery link is now active on the side navigation. I have recently got more space on my web server and decided to fill it up with photos. I'm slowly getting my albums up - but in the mean time there are a few pics of various parties to look at. I have added the ability to add comments and even rank pictures. The ranking system allows you to rate a picture with stars - so if you like a photo give it five stars. In time I will organise albums by rank...
